OLYMP increases its commitment to the training of young profession-als

08.09.2020 OLYMP increases its commitment to the training of young profession-als

Greater range of apprenticeships and more trainees despite Coronavirus crisis

OLYMP Bezner KG, based in Bietigheim-Bissingen near Stuttgart, will continue to meet its social responsibility as a high-quality vocational training enterprise in the German textile and clothing industry in the coming years. Despite the current challenging market situation, the company will still be training industrial managers, apparel tailors, IT specialists (system integration and application development), warehouse logistics specialists and, for the first time, e-commerce and retail managers. In addition, OLYMP offers future-oriented courses of study in Business Administration (Retail/Fashion Management), Business Administration (Industrial Service Management) and Computer Science to school leavers and professionals seeking a career change.

OLYMP is a successful and internationally active family enterprise with over 900 employees in Germany and Austria who are the foundation for long-term market success. In order for the company's processes – from purchasing through production and design to marketing – to run smoothly, it continually requires apprentices and students in product-related professions and courses of study. For this reason, OLYMP has not only expanded its range of training opportunities, but has also taken on additional trainees and students and significantly increased the number of apprenticeship places.

"Since it is becoming increasingly difficult to recruit highly qualified employees to the clothing industry, this measure is an important investment in the future for us. Therefore, despite the difficult economic situation resulting from the Coronavirus crisis, we are pleased to be able to take on 14 new apprentices and students this year," states Mark Bezner, owner and CEO of OLYMP Bezner KG. Those who successfully complete their apprenticeship or course of study have a very good chance of subsequent employment at OLYMP. Mark Bezner adds: "Quite a few of our long-standing team members, who are now in leading positions, once started their careers with a sound apprenticeship at OLYMP."

There are currently 23 apprentices and students at OLYMP in the following apprenticeship occupations: industrial managers (10), apparel and fashion tailors (2), IT specialists (system integration and application development) (2), and in the following courses of study: Business Administration (Retail/Fashion Management) (3) and Business Administration (Industrial Service Management) (6). In September 2020, six industrial managers and one e-commerce manager, one specialist in warehouse logistics and one IT specialist in application development are also joining the company. In addition, in October 2020, two students will start on the Business Administration (Retail/Fashion Management) course, two on the Business Administration (Industrial Service Management) course and one on the Computer Science course. With a total of 37 trainees and students, OLYMP is thus enabling more young people than ever before in the company's entire history to receive high-quality vocational training. The application window for the 2021 training year has already opened.

OLYMP Bezner KG from Bietigheim-Bissingen near Stuttgart is the market leader in Germany for men's shirts.
