CARE INSTRUCTIONS

OLYMP Luxor – For best results, even without ironing

• Always wash white and coloured garments separately.
• To preserve the brightness of colours, we recommend that you use a detergent which is specially formulated for delicate fabrics. Only use an all-purpose detergent for whites.
• Always check the article’s care label and follow the washing instructions.
• Turn shirts inside out and fold collars and cuffs inwards to reduce wear and tear on edges.
• For best results wash a maximum of 6 shirts per washing cycle.
• Spin with a maximum speed of 600 rpm.
• After the wash, shirts should be hung immediately on hangers, and collar, cuffs and button panel smoothed out.
• Shirts dried in a tumble dryer should also be hung immediately on hangers after the drying cycle and pulled into shape.
• Once dry the shirts are smooth. However, if you still wish to iron them, avoid using an overheated iron (maximum 2 points) and keep in mind that the set temperature may diverge noticeably from the actual ironing temperature. Collars and cuffs should be lightly ironed inside out. Any remaining wrinkles disappear automatically during wear as a result of your body heat.

OLYMP Knitwear – Wear and care tips

• Always wash similar colours and the same materials together, i.e. whites separately from coloureds, cotton separately from wool.
• Fasten any buttons and zips and turn the garments inside out to protect the fibres on the outside.
• Always follow the care instructions on the label.
• It is preferable to wash knitted items on a machine wool wash cycle, even if it is recommended to wash by hand. In this way the washing temperature can be precisely controlled, detergents ideally dispensed and the mechanical load reduced. If the care label indicates hand washing, set the wash cycle to cold, i.e. to less than 30 degrees Celsius.
• Only fill the drum of the washing machine up to a third. This will improve the wash result/washing performance and protect the garments.
• Only use a wool detergent for woollens – the greater foam build-up protects against mechanical influences and counteracts felting or roughening of the surface. For cottons, use a fine detergent.
• Liquid detergent is preferable to powder, as it dissolves better and is easier to rinse out. Use the detergent sparingly in accordance with the dosage instructions, as otherwise it may not wash out completely and damage the fibres. Avoid additional fabric softener.

• Only spin for a short time.
• After washing, pull the garments into shape and dry flat. Do not dry in the tumble dryer! Also avoid drying in direct sunlight or on the radiator, in order to prevent formation of stains, fading and fibre breakage.
• To counteract shine or felting, only iron inside out, on the middle temperature setting and with plenty of steam.
• Always wash or clean garments before storing them for prolonged periods of time.
• Regularly dust wardrobes and wipe them out with a damp cloth.
• Do not use drawer liner!
• As a basic principle, only place dry clothing in the wardrobe.
• Place cedar wood balls, lavender bags, moth paper or moth traps specially designed for clothing (available from drugstores) in the wardrobe. Now and again roughen up the cedar wood with sand paper. Take care when using mothproofing agents that these conform to human-ecological standards.

OLYMP Ties - Wear and care instructions

• After the tie has been worn, the knot should always be undone and the tie should be rolled up and stored in a wardrobe to allow recovery from creasing. Ties which are hung up will wear more quickly.
• In order to maintain the shape of the tie, we always recommend that after a tie has been worn, it should not be worn again for at least a day.
• If necessary, more severe wrinkles or creases which do not disappear after this time, can be very carefully ironed or steamed out. When the tie is ironed, the iron must not be too hot and must not come into direct contact with the delicate outer fabric. For this reason, a dry cloth should be placed in between to minimise the impact from the weight of the iron.
• Alternatively, the tie can be hung in the damp atmosphere of a bathroom during or after a shower.
• OLYMP ties have a BIONIC-FINISH® ECO which provides increased protection against dirt and stains. In many cases, aqueous substances such as coffee or wine can simply be shaken off or dabbed off the tie without leaving any remaining residue.
• Stubborn stains can be removed using a soft cloth soaked in spirit or cleaner's solvent. Please note that the stain should be removed by carefully dabbing the fabric and not by rubbing.
• Dry cleaning can be an option, but only as a very last resort, as there is a risk that the interlining could become distorted and the tie could lose its shape and volume. The nanofinish could also be affected and lose its protective function.
• When travelling, ties can be transported either in a special case/box or rolled up and placed in the spaces between the individual garments or in the collars of shirts.
