Iceland is formed by volcanoes – one of the most powerful wonders of nature. The most active volcanoes cross the island diagonally and divide it in two. The most well-known volcano has to be Eyjafjallajökull, which when it erupted in 2010, threw clouds of ashes into the atmosphere and stopped airline traffic all over Europe for weeks.
From the very beginning, the Icelanders have utilized the power of the volcanos. Today, thanks to these breathtaking wonders, bigger parts of Iceland´s energy are derived from green volcano power.
